Archangel, also known as the Heavenly Voice and Big Brother, is an angelic-like being and the older brother of Rin. He serves as the boss of Close Encounter as well as the true final boss of Catherine: Full Body.

Archangel appears as a giant white-skinned humanoid being with golden eyes. His body is marked with intricate designs which most have the design of stems and leaves together. The top of his head appears to be 'hair' combed neatly to the back and on the sides of his head are some form of drill-like antennae. His palms also have a golden eye on them individually. He has two angelic white wings with a spiral end on each.

However, this heavenly design is instead his "formal attire" when visiting other places. What he looks like normally instead are small round pink aliens. They have a single blue eye with a red eyelid at the center of their head. Their limbs are stubby and they have an antenna sticking out of the top of their head with a glowing yellow sphere at the top. They wear a silver bodysuit around their body with two small button-like shapes at the front. Their underwears differ between either of three: white with a pattern of Rin's face, teal with a pattern of yellow stars, and yellow with a pattern of teal polka dots.

Catherine: Full Body[]

After the events of Vincent Brooks' last nightmare that ended with Thomas Mutton's defeat and Rin returning to the Stray Sheep, a tremor occurred inside the bar as soon as Rin revealed his memory of his nature as an angel and his mission to save the humans from the nightmares. Mutton senses an angel approaching and cowers in fear as soon as a humanoid being with wings briefly appeared before everyone.

Once the angelic being drew Vincent, Rin and Mutton into a white-vacant dimension, Archangel reveals himself as the older brother of Rin. Archangel then scolded Rin and stated that he and the other brothers only approved Rin's socialization with humans for the sake of the mission, but not of Rin's love for Vincent and wishing to become human.

Archangel then stated that they will have to erase Rin's memories again, bring him back home and re-educate him. Both Rin and Vincent opposed this decision and stated their love for each other, making Archangel angry and having to display his powers of lightning to strike at Vincent's feet and direct meteors in space to eradicate humanity.

Rin quickly pleads to him not to destroy humanity because of their potential and to let Vincent try to prove himself. After calming down, Archangel states that Vincent will first partake in a trial (similar to the preceding nightmares) to prove this potential, and agrees not to destroy humanity and allow Rin to stay with Vincent if Vincent succeeds. Archangel also affirmed that he will not slack off in their challenge like Mutton (who was then almost struck by the lightning before scurrying away), and look forward to killing Vincent as soon as he finish his preparations.

Despite Archangel having shown a range of abilities to deter Vincent from reaching the top (including gusts of winds and a gigantic version of himself), Vincent became victorious in the Close Encounter trial. Unable to accept this outcome, Archangel immediately exploded into multiple, small pink alien beings. Later, they reappeared in reality after Rin and Vincent woke up in the Stray Sheep, crying for their 'little angel'.

Rin and his brothers explained that they are aliens from a different star system, and that Rin's amnesia was done to help him enter human society and carry out his mission. Rin remembers the figure who he was running away from on the night that he and Vincent first met each other was Archangel. The angelic appearance that Rin's alien brothers took on was actually their formal attire for whenever they visit human settlements, which lead to humans mistaking and worshipping them as angels over time.

Despite their much-less intimidating forms, the Archangel pink alien threw lightning at Vincent in retaliation for picking him up in a sheepish manner. Rin warned Vincent that all of his brothers can use the same level of powers that they displayed in their angelic form.

The aliens soon explained that their race is also responsible for deeds that humans would have called 'miracles', and helped guide mankind's development with their own advanced ciivilization and abilities. One such example is Rin's piano playing that allows anyone who listens to it to spiritually grow and explore new opportunities for themselves.

Vincent wonders if Rin's true appearance is the same as theirs before deciding to forget about it as he continued to hug Rin. Meanwhile, a submissive Mutton is being bullied by some of the alien brothers despite having possibly heard the truth that they are not real angels (whether they are doing it because of the nightmares Mutton conducted, his kidnapping of Rin or the aliens' mere frustration at losing to Vincent is uncertain).

In the Rin True Ending, Archangel in his angelic attire participates as a minister at Vincent's and Rin's wedding to help officiate their vows.

Boss guide[]

Archangel has several attacks which he can use to impede or kill Vincent as he scales the tower. The first is him moving his hands to the sides of the tower. After a few seconds, he'll lock onto the current row Vincent is on and will release lightning from his palms above the entire row. He'll repeat this attack twice. However, the lightning can be blocked by any blocks that are above the row.

The second is that he'll create several clones of Vincent above the rows he is in. Them dying does not affect Vincent in any way, but will follow the player's prompts and potentially make it harder for him once he gets to their areas afterward, thus making it helpful for the player get rid of them by careful prompts that would kill them without killing Vincent (ie. move them into a Laser Block or Black Hole Block, or let them hang off the edge and pressing the prompt to drop off the block).

The third is an attack that targets most of the bottomost tower. He sweeps his wings, conjuring a cyclone that will kill Vincent if he still remains in the range of the area without holding onto a block. He does this after the second half of the tower.

The fourth attack is when Archangel waves a finger while by the side of the tower. After spreading his hand, he sends one White Block upwards, which then locks onto Vincent's current location for roughly three seconds before it shoots over to him. Getting hit by that will kill him, while the block is placed at that location.

Finally, as Vincent nears the top of the tower, Archangel creates a meteorite and crushes it. Afterwards, meteorites will rain down periodically onto the tower, killing Vincent if he is on the randomly selected blocks. If the meteorites hit any White Blocks, they'll turn into Cracked Blocks.

When Vincent reaches the "door" of the stage, Archangel will sweep his hand across it, destroying the "top" of the tower, forcing Vincent to continue climbing the tower.
